Art Collages

True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist.
Albert Einstein

I recently ravaged through my latest four issues of Vogue magazine in order to create some collages for sale on Etsy.  I need to buy some contact paper so I can laminate them for longer preservation, and then they will probably go up for sale on my Etsy shop for $3 or $4 a piece + free shipping.  They primarily center around beauty and fashion design, and some have certain color or mood themes.  I will blog again when they are all complete and up on the shop.

Also, I made me some business cards, woot! Sorry, had to blur out my address for the internet creepies:

As always, check out midwinterbloom.etsy.com for handcrafted earrings for sale!

New Beginnings

The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.   John Pierpont Morgan
My name is Amanda.  I just got married on April 16th and have decided with this new phase of my life, I will no longer stifle my creativity in search of monotony.  Growing up, I took a great interest in art, poetry, prose, music, and more.  I would spend hours creating collages, writing music for piano, gaining inspiration from nature, filling journals with poetry.  Along the way over the last few years, I have lost the drive to create due to time-consuming schooling or job situations.  I am at a point in my life where I finally have some freedom to play around, learn, seek, and build.  I want to go back to who I used to be - where spending hours making something fulfilled and excited me.

The first step of my journey begins with my jewelry shop.  I have opened a web shop at http://midwinterbloom.etsy.com
There I make and sell earrings and hope to expand into other types of jewelry later, primarily necklaces and maybe bracelets.  I am very new at making jewelry and am essentially self taught minus a few tutorials on YouTube laying the groundwork.  I have a LOT of room to grow and perfect this talent, but more importantly, I have found something I enjoy doing that could also lead to some extra profit for my household.

To follow are some pictures of some pieces I have created that are for sale.
